PhD Program „Transnational aging and social support“

The doctoral program “Transnational aging and social support” is situated at the intersection of transnational life worlds in old age and social support. It aims to foster the analysis of how social support is created in transnational life worlds of older people and how social services are challenged by and respond to it. It examines the social structures and social practices of social support in transnational life worlds in old age and analyses them from the perspective of whether and how they respond to aging in context that span across national borders.
