  • Since October 2012: Professor for Educational Science with an emphasis on Social Pedagogy, Johannes Gutenberg University, Mainz, Germany; member of the Research Training Group “Transnational Social Support” (2nd funding period) at the Universities of Mainz and Hildesheim, both Germany
  • 2010 – 2012: Professor for Adventure Pedagogy and Youth Studies, Philipps University Marburg, Germany; director of the programmes “Pedagogy of Adventure and Experience” and  “Transcultural European Outdoor Studies” (Erasmus-Mundus Master)
  • 2008 – 2010: Visiting professor (Vertretungsprofessur) for Anthropology and Sociology of Sports, Philipps University, Marburg, Germany
  • 2008: PhD (Dr. phil) at the University of Bielefeld, Germany; title of the dissertation: “Jugendliche in intensivpädagogischen Auslandsprojekten” [Young people on intensive educational projects abroad]
